Lay Speaking Ministry - is a program to provide training opportunities and experiences to equip disciples of Jesus Christ to realize and respond to their personal call to ministry. Since each disciple is ‘gifted’ with one or more spiritual gifts (skills given by the Holy Spirit for the express purpose of serving the body of believers and thereby God), Lay Speaking Ministries strives to help disciples become aware of their particular gift or gifts by offering educational events to enhance and develop the skill level necessary for the full fruition of these gifts. It is an excellent vehicle for servant ministry skill development and has aided thousands of church members to be better servants of Jesus Christ, to become stronger church family leaders, and to more capably assist their pastors.

Nothing But Nets - is a campaign to save lives by preventing malaria, a leading killer of children in Africa. For only $10 you can send a net and save a life!  A great mission project for children and youth.

Occohannock on the Bay Camp and Retreat Center - a full-service camp and conference facility

Scouting Ministry - We, the Church, are endowed with certain responsibilities that allow scouting and civic youth serving programs to become a ministry.

Volunteers in Mission -UMVIM is a missionary movement in our church designed to provide an official channel whereby Christians, both lay and clergy, may offer their skills and talents for Christian service at home and abroad on short term assignments at their own expense.  The emphasis is upon matching persons with opportunities so that all interested members may participate in mission, in addition to a small number of professionally trained full-time missionaries.  The intention is to complement other forms of mission service by increasing the participation of a much larger segent of the chruch, who are eager to serve.  For information concerning District VIM Teams go to our District Calendar.
