District Conference 2011 Results

 
We had over 150 people at District Conference yesterday afternoon (Sunday, Nov. 13) at Grace UMC, Parksley.  The very talented Roland Major from Adams provided special music.  Our Conference Preacher, Alexandria District Superintendent, Rev. Ken Jackson preached on “the neighbor I never knew”.  A very inspiring message.  We concluded the worship service with communion. 
 
And now for the ballot results!  Folks, it was close……in fact our diligent tellers were at the church until 7 pm counting ballots. (Tellers: thank you, thank you!) and to Host Pastor Don Jamison for waiting with us.
 
Lay members of the District Conference were asked to vote for 10 Members At-Large, 2 Youth and 2 Young Adult members.  Ballots were collected and tallied by Conference tellers. 
 
The results of the election being (in the order of highest votes received): Jesse Poulson of Metropolitan, Barbara Mason of Christ, Betty Armstrong of Franktown, Laurine White of New Mission, Berkley Ashby of Epworth, B. Olivia White of Adams, JoLynn Hart of Melfa, Carole Oakley of Epworth, Maxine Ashby of Epworth, and Dorris Kilmon of Smith’s Chapel are the District Members At-Large.   Robin Nedab of Adams, Peggy Corbin of Metropolitan, Annette Kellam of Epworth, Marlene Donnell of Travis Chapel, and Katrina Perez of Leemont Charge are the Alternates.  
 
Yasmine Johnson of Deas Chapel and Anne Parker Kellam of Grace are the Youth Members with Malcolm White and Hannah Perez as Alternates. 
 
Harold White, Jr. of New Mission and Daniel Hiler of Franktown are the Young Adult Members with LáKendrick Dennis of Adams as the Alternate. 
 
(Alternates will be selected, if needed, in the order as they appear in the minutes.)
