Camp Occohannock's Polar Duck Dip

It's Freezin for a Reason! 
Saturday, January 28, 2012 "High Noon"
with Registration by January 19, 2012
Camp Occohannock will host their fourth annual Polar Duck Dip on Saturday, January 28, 2012. Plan to arrive at 11AM and join other “ducks” to take a dip in the Occohannock Creek at 12 noon.   Registration fee is $20 and if registered by January 19th, you will receive an original sweatshirt, commemorating the event. Individual Polar Ducks are requested to solicit sponsors in support of their participation in the Polar Duck Dip. 
As an Individual Polar Duck Dipper you will receive a commemorative sweatshirt if your registration is received by January 19th. Additionally, for total contributions of:

$250 or more Polar Ducks will receive a commemorative coffee mug;
$500 or more Polar Ducks will receive an embroidered towel and commemorative coffee mug;
$1,000 or more Polar Ducks will receive an embroidered towel, commemorative coffee mug and Camp base ball cap;
$2,000 or more Polar Ducks will receive an embroidered towel, commemorative coffee mug, Camp base ball cap and embroidered fleece jacket.
 
Polar Duck Dipper Tips: 1) Bring a robe for warmth while waiting to plunge and after drying off. 2) Bring water shoes for safety and warmth. 3) Bring extra towels or a blanket for warmth. 4) Wear layered loose fitting clothing . . . easier to get into when fingers are cold. 5) Plunge with friends. Recruit others to participate! 6) No diving or entering water head first!  Spectators are invited and encouraged to come and cheer for these courageous dippers!   
 
Parents/legal guardians must be present with their child(ren) from the beginning of the event until the child leaves the premises.   
 
Afterwards, enjoy chili, Pigs-in-a-Blanket, Miss Emily's cinnamon buns, and other assorted goodies!   Exmore Fire Department and lifeguards will be on site should any emergency assistance be necessary. This event is to support the ministries of Camp Occohannock. Come and support one of the Eastern Shore's greatest treasures!
