![]() The Eastern Shore District connects 48 United Methodist Churches and one Faith Community in Accomack and Northampton Counties with the Virginia Annual Conference, The United Methodist Church and the world in ministry to others on behalf of Christ. The clergy and laity of the Eastern Shore are supervised by a Conference-appointed District Superintendent. The Virginia Conference is composed of 16 districts serving 1,176 local United Methodist congregations and faith communities across most of the state of Virginia.
Our Mission Statement:
We envision the Eastern Shore as a place where clergy, congregations, and communities are freed for edge-walking action on behalf of the gospel of Jesus. As people called into a life of holiness, we walk to the edge where our only trust is in Christ who walks before us. As people called into beloved community, we meet brothers and sisters who live on the edge of security and acceptance.
