Occasionally we will highlight one of our local UM churches in our Shoreline newsletter and how they are making a difference in their communities -from members to disciples!
"Storybook Ladies" is an outreach project in its second year at this church. Women from the church and community volunteer once a month to read age-appropriate books to the pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classes at Kiptopeke Elementary School (Northampton County Public Schools). Hearing stories read not only helps students like books and reading, but it also is a method of outreach to the community. In addition, each month a special book is given to the child that is celebrating his or her birthday that month. Students take their birthday books home to be read to them and their siblings by an adult at home, and this new book is added to their home library so it can be share with siblings.
Continuing to be a vital congregation located in Northhampton County.
